Serious fuel for energy independence

It's time to invest in biodiesel so that it can move into mass production. Biodiesel has been designated as a fuel and fuel additive by the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of Transportation. With 30 million proven miles on U.S. roads and 20 years of use in Europe, it's safe to say biodiesel is here to stay.

Diagram of how Biodiesel recycles Carbon Dioxide.

Made from vegetable oil, biodiesel is:

  • Clean-burning
  • Bio-degradable
  • Non-toxic
  • Burns in any diesel engine

Energy independence

Biodiesel is manufactured from sustainable, locally grown crops, reducing our need to buy foreign oil.

Biodiesel helps mitigate global warming

Oilseed plants, like canola, remove CO2 - a greenhouse gas - from the atmosphere. Through photosynthesis, the canola plant converts the gas into the oil used to make biodiesel. When biodiesel is burned, CO2 is released back into the atmosphere in a cycle resulting in no net increase in atmospheric CO2.

Biodiesel also has the highest energy balance of any transportation fuel: for each unit of fossil fuel energy used in its manufacture, biodiesel provides 3.2 units of energy.

Economic opportunity

At full build-out the Washington Biodiesel plant in Warden, WA will provide over $150 million opportunity annually for Washington farmers.
